Are you registered to vote?
Ashford residents may have received an ‘annual enquiry form’ through the post where you'll be asked to check and update the information that appears on the electoral register.
You'll want to make sure you're registered to vote so you are prepared for the next local election where you will elect your borough councillor and, in some areas, a parish councillor as well.
People who have recently moved address are particularly encouraged to keep an eye out for the form and check the details.
Remember, no vote - no voice! Which is why it is essential you check if you are registered to vote.

Terence Mortimer, the Electoral Registration Officer for Ashford Borough Council, said: “It’s important that residents respond as soon as possible, so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in the borough. We are therefore asking residents to check the form when it arrives and respond as soon as they can.”
Melanie Davidson, Head of Support and Improvement at the Electoral Commission, said: “It’s really important that everyone who is entitled to vote is able to do so; checking the form that will arrive through the post is one of the easiest ways to find out if you are already registered. There’s also lots of helpful information about registering to vote on our website Your Vote Matters.”
