Welcome to September's issue of Ashford Voice
What a summer it has been! We kicked-off July with the Create Music Festival, celebrated Ashford Farmers' Market's 3rd birthday, and opened a new Iron-aged themed play area in the borough! Plus, works commenced on Elwick Place which will boast a six-screen Picturehouse cinema, hotel, restaurants and cafes by December 2018.
How could September possibly live up to that? Not to worry because we have plenty of great features and news for you this month.
Excitement is building as works have begun on two significant projects - Chilmington Green (which will see 5,750 new homes created for the borough over a period of about twenty years) and Bridgefield Park which will include an adventure play area, cycle paths and orchards.
In other news, students have started their studies at the brand new Ashford College campus which opened last week.
If you often pop into town by car, you'll be pleased to hear that a brand new car park in Elwick Road has now opened - it's just a few minutes walk from Debenhams and County Square.
Calling new mums - if you're visiting the town centre, our health shop One You now has a private breastfeeding area.
Plus, those partial to a beer or two will be delighted to know that Tenterden's Old Dairy Brewery have been busy brewing up a new flavoursome range of beers!
Don't forget to check out what's going on this month in the What's On section and get in touch if you have a great local event going on near you.
